Two Meals - Same Message

Two Meals - Same Message

March 11, 2018

What is something you feel as if you have devoted your life to? How have your passions for different things changed over the years?

What was something that stuck out to you from this sermon?

Read Matthew 26:6-13.

Dan talked about the woman who anointed Jesus’ body with nard.

What was so significant about Mary’s action? What does Mary’s action say about her understanding of Jesus’ mission?

What does Mary’s action say about her heart?

What words would you use to describe the disciples as they watched Mary anoint Jesus?

Read Matthew 26:17-30.

How would you have felt if you were the disciples in this passage and Jesus began talking about how he will be betrayed by one of you?

Why do you think “remembrance” is so crucial to our faith journey?

Why do you think table fellowship was so important in the 1st century?

What would it feel like for you to pour yourself out for Jesus?

What does betrayal feel like?

The Passover was a feast to commemorate God’s mercy and goodness. How has God been merciful and good to you?

When have there been times in your life when it has been difficult for you to remember God’s mercy and goodness? Or, when have there been times when it was difficult to pour yourself out fully in devotion to Jesus Christ?

How does this sermon change how you will live this week?

This week, pray for one person who you can be intentional about inviting to Easter services!

Jesus makes it clear that he is indeed coming back one day to fully make right was in wrong in this world. In the meantime, his followers are to keep watching, keep waiting, and keep working. That is hard to do alone, but in community we can do that.  Here are three ways to help get you started:

1. Visit our Community Finder. This new tool lists all the “connection” opportunities here at the Creek. It has everything from classes to life groups to support and recovery groups. For more information, visit the Community Finder at

2. Find Community. We offer a “Connect” session the second service, on the second weekend of every month in South Room 2. We would love to have you join us to find out the why, how, and where regarding connection.

3. Join us at Welcome to the Creek! This is place where you can find out more information about who we are as a church. This experience occurs the 1st and 3rd weekend of every month in South Room 2 during the 11 o’clock service.
